Admission in Azerbaijan State Economic University

for foreign students (2007/2008 study years)

 

  1. Citizens from all countries in the world have right to study in Azerbaijan Republic (Constitution of Azerbaijan Republic)

 

  1. Admission terms and foreign students studies are regulated by decree of Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic, Baku, 2002,

 

  1. Education system of ASEU

 

Education system of ASEU consists of two-levels degree system: bachelor (4 years) and master (2 years).

There are two semesters in education year. Fall semester – from September 15th to January 25th;

winter exam session – from December 25th to January 25th;

winter holidays – from January 25th to February 10th;

Spring semester – from February 10th to June 25th;

summer exam session – from May 25th to June 25th;

summer holidays – from June 25th to September 15th

 

Extra-mural education year lasts 5 year.

 

  1. All foreign citizens applying for a study program at ASEU should submit the following documents

    2. Passport (original)
    3. 4 photographs measuring 3x4 centimeters
    4. Document certifying completion of secondary education (original)
    5. Submission fee – 20 AZN

  1. Terms of admission on the first-year study of bachelor degree

 

Any students can study at Azerbaijan State Economic University after completion one-year preparation course and passing state entrance examination in the State Student Admission Commission of the Azerbaijan Republic (STAC – www.tqdk.gov.az). If student don’t pass exam he/she can enter again at the preparation course.

Russian-speaking students can enter at the ASEU on basis of interview without passing state exam. Foreign student who finish  secondary school in Azerbaijan Republic on Azerbaijan language and receive Azerbaijan certificate must pass the state exams in STAC.

 

  1. Terms of admission on the second- and third-year study of bachelor degree

 

Russian-speaking students can enter on the relevant course at the ASEU on the second and third year only if they pass the difference in study subjects (subject compliance is appointed by ASEU Commission). Student from any humanitarian high education schools with 70% subject compliance can enter at second course of ASEU.

 

  1. Terms of admission on master degree.

 

Foreign students can enter at master degree as a result of passing entrance test examination on Azerbaijan or Russian languages. Student without knowledge of Azerbaijan or Russian languages must learn any of this language on the Preparation Course with the following sitting for an examination in STAC.

 

  1. Terms of  admission on post-graduate study (doctor degree – PhD)

 

 

  1. Terms of admission deadline

 

All applications and submission documents have been accepted from August 1st to September 1st. After reviewing the documents in period of September 1st – 10th they are issued an order of Rector about student’s enrolment at the University. Enrolled students must be in Azerbaijan Republic till September 15th.

  1. Education fee and terms of payment

 

Preparation courses – 400 AZN

Fee must be paid for one year in advance. Education fee is not reimbursed if student do not continue studies in any reasons.

Education fee is determined by the contract between foreign students and ASEU.

 

  1. Education conditions.

 

Principles, rights and responsibilities of foreign students,  study language, terms of residence etc. are regulated in contract signed  between ASEU and  student.

Iranian students – certificate/diploma of secondary education

Student from Middle East Asia – certificate of secondary education

Student from West and East Europe – certificate of secondary education, professional school, lyceum

Students from African and Arabian Countries – certificate of secondary school/lyceum, college, private secondary school
